Josh Tyrrell goes to Red Hook Crit in Brooklyn | Go Fast, Take Chances
The trip to NYC from Canada for the Red Hook Crit in Brooklyn has always been an adventure for the Canadian fixed gear community. Groups of riders have been making the trip every spring since 2012. It is still cold weather here in Canada at the time of the race in NYC and ends up being the first race of the year many Canadian riders. It is not the first race of the year for Mr. Tyrrell as he now has the opportunity to travel the world racing his Undefeated From State Bicycle Company. Josh has become the standard for high level fixed gear racing in Montreal and Canada. He is chill, collected, and knows what it takes to be an elite level rider. Enjoy the short documentary film about the annual trip to NYC for the RHC and what it takes to be competitive in the growing world of Fixed Gear Crits!

Red Hook Crit London
To celebrate the joy that is the Red Hook Crit, four of our designers will be personalizing a bike and gear to match each city of the race—Brooklyn, London, Barcelona, and Milano. In this installment, Jon Takao, Footwear Designer at Specialized, tackles the London Red Hook Crit, bringing his own design twist that draws inspiration from risk, the eternal gamble, and fairytales.

State Bicycle Co. rider Alex Steadman tackles the legendary Eroica ride in Paso Robles, California for an unforgettable journey.
To ride Eroica California, you must have a steel-frame bike of vintage look and feel. Preferably a bike from 1987 or before. Alex rode the State Bicycle Co. Retro Re-Issue Copper, with cloth bar tape and Brooks Saddle – single speed – over the 87.2 mile Coastal route with 7368 ft climbing, views of wine-country, the Pacific Coast, and lush rolling hills.
