BOMBTRACK GROUNDWORK 2016
October 2016 saw the first ever Groundworks event, held at “La Chateau de Gressoux” in the Franche-Comté region of France. The event was a meeting, and indeed a ‘thank you’ to those that helped and still work to build Bombtrack into the brand it is today. From across Europe we brought together team riders, ambassadors, distributors, shops and “family” members like OSM films, Jason Sellers and design partners such as Olaf Wit. These kind of events don’t happen often enough, but when they do it’s always a pleasure to be surrounded by, and ride bikes with such incredible people.
On hand, we had a selection of the latest 2017 models as well as some special race proven machines that had completed challenging events such as the Tuscany Trail, Torino-Nice, and the Alpes version of La Haute-Route. With such a knowledgeable and passionate group of bike riders all in one place we took the opportunity to use this highly qualified focus group to share and discuss ideas for developments and future models face to face.
The event was a huge success with great vibes all weekend long and in such a stunning location and great weather to-boot we couldn’t have asked for more.

Cross Crusade 2016 | Barton Park #8
Cross Crusade 2016 wraps up at the always popular yet somewhat notorious Barton Park venue. Despite the rugged, bleak nature of the landscape, and the heightened challenges of the course, racers just love this place. Fans, including our videographer, really enjoy the scene at Barton Park, too. With close battles in series points for many races, the season finale brought incredible energy to the race day.
The Barton Park race and venue sit among the workings of a gravel mine adjacent to the Clackamas River east of Portland. Piles of gravel and related machinery make for a rough, rocky course that demands higher-than-normal tire pressure for a day that is almost always rainy and muddy. This year’s race saw dark skies and treacherous muddy tracks but the light of Portland’s brightest race series will shine through the winter.
We continue our presentation of local music with Portland artist Foundation and the song “Replaced Memories”. “A bit urban, a bit grimy and always engaging, Foundation tracks lean heavily on the propulsive rhythms of vintage electropop.”
Red Hook Criterium Milano 2016 POLOANDBIKE
Here is our final video from the last Red Hook of the year in Milan. Good overall results this season for our team, ending 7th in both men and women categories.
Our minds are in 2017 and we can’t wait to be back on the track!
First Crack
There is nowhere Vincent Ribeiro wouldn’t go with his bike. The one route he would routinely take is from Marine Park New York to Palisades New Jersey. It stretches about 70 miles round trip and goes through Prospect Park, FDR East River Drive, then Henry Hudson Road with the spectacular view of the George Washington Bridge and Hudson Valley.
This film captures moments of Vincent’s routine. He often gets the first crack of the sunrise in the Palisades while many others are still asleep.
Special thanks to Emily Cheng for operating the 2nd camera, Amir Malevic for the impeccable driving, and Jocelyn Chuang for the BTS photos. I would also like to use this film to congratulate his recent winning of the New York State Category Four Silver Medal.
Andy Sparks & Mike Chacon | Bridging The Gap
There are only a handful of people who bridge the gap between track bikes and the common day FGFS build. Andy Sparks & Michael Chacon have been doing so for years. With no real agenda, we met up at the clocktower, rode around down town and put together one day jammer. This video was a true pleasure to piece together and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did filming it.

RAPHA | San Francisco | For life on and off the bike
Building riding features into functional knitwear, modern essentials and finely tailored outerwear, the new City collection blurs the lines between life on and off the bike. We followed three riders as they explored San Francisco by day and night, wearing and testing the range.
CROSS CRUSADE 2016 | RIVER CITY BICYCLES
“River City Bicycles proudly presents the 2016 Cyclocross Crusade cyclocross series in all its muddy, Oregon goodness. After a few dry, dusty season openers at Alpenrose Dairy, the CX gods gave the Cross Crusaders what they’d hashtagged for all summer long. Cross is here and it’s a slippery, low psi good time.”
The Cross Crusade cyclocross series began as a Portland series back in 1993. Over the years it’s hosted events across the state including popular courses in Bend, Oregon. The Halloween double-race weekend in Bend is now a tradition with intense racing on Saturday and just-as-intense-but-costumed-to-the-max racing on Sunday. The energy for this year’s race weekend was full on and local creativity was once again off the charts. The course at Deschutes Brewery offered up shorter lap times than usual but with loads of technical challenges and great spots to spectate. (Sometimes “spectating” means good-natured heckling.) We cannot thank the people of Deshcutes Brewery and the City of Bend enough for their support of this great event. As always, the Cross Crusade worked ’round the clock to produce two great courses and a two-day party atmosphere. “The Power of ‘Cross compels you!”
In this film, River City Bicycles’s very own Kevin Niedorf captures the gritty racing of Day 1 and the reverly of Day 2. We continue our presentation of local music with Portland band Magic Mouth and their song “Swampy Seconds. “With feet firmly planted in the raw and dirty sounds of roots music, their thorny blend of punk, funk, and soul has catapulted them onto the front lines of Portland’s explosive music scene. Their blossoming success is rooted in the power of their live performance; a swirling storm of sweat and groove that creates a subversively “pentecostal” experience.”
