In April 1986 a nuclear accident occurred in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine. 1,100 square miles are radioactive and restricted entry. The area has become known as “zone”. Lucas Brunelle and four friends ride to the restricted area with a helmet camera and a Geiger counter. They are overwhelmed by the ironic beauty of the “zone”
This film can be called “dark tourism” and may conjure images of Fukushima after 30 years. However there is no better way to see the world than by bicycle.
